President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the loss of life and property due to floods in Khyber Pukhtunkhwah as well as in some other parts of the country.
The President telephone Khyber Pakhtunkhwah Chief Minister Amir Haider Hoti to enquire about the latest flood situation in the province and asked him to make the relief activities more effective in different areas. The President who has called for reports on the steps already taken and those proposed to be taken to alleviate the sufferings of the flood affected people. He also directed PPP organisations to organise rescue and relief missions and set up emergency medical and relief centres for affected people. Flash floods caused by torrential rains have caused loss of precious lives and displacement of tens of thousands of people in several districts of Khyber Pukhtunkhwah.
