Chief Justice of Pakistan Friday took Suo Motto notice of government’s decision to abandon capital punishment.
In this regard the Supreme Court has served a notice to Secretary Interior, Secretary Law and Attorney General of Pakistan demanding their reply in writing. It may be mentioned here that the Federal Cabinet earlier decided to scrap death sentence.
