The three-member congressional delegation led by congressmen gene green called on President Pervez Musharraf in Rawalpindi.
They discussed bilateral relations, including matters relating to economic and counter terrorism cooperation. The President underlined Pakistan’s commitment to a closer and broad-based relationship with the United States. He reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve to fight terrorism and extremism. In this regard he underscored the importance of a comprehensive, multi pronged counter terrorism strategy. The U.S. delegation appreciated Pakistan’s commitment to fighting terrorism and extremism while reaffirming their support for Pakistan’s social development goals.
