Floods in China's southwestern Sichuan province have killed 15 people while 21 others are missing, bringing the overall death toll, as a result of adverse weather conditions, to more than 600.

Torrential rain which pounded Ganluo County since Friday caused a mudslide which killed three people and left five more injured. Some towns have been totally cut off by water and left with no electricity. In neighbouring Hanyuan County, the Liusha River caused the worst flooding in 80 years. The local meteor-Ological bureau has predicted that heavy rain will continue for several days, bringing more flooding.
