In Occupied Kashmir, APHC has said the U.N. Security council resolution passed in January 1949 is of immense importance as it provides legal basis for resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
In a statement issued in Srinagar, APHC maintained that the U.N. Resolution acknowledged the fundamental right of the Kashmiris that Jammu and Kashmir belonged to them and they were the masters of their fate. The APHC urged the world body to play its pivotal role in resolving the Kashmir dispute. Meanwhile, Indian police arrested senior APHC Leader Shabbir Ahmad Shah in Pattan when he was on his way to Baramullah to visit the bereaved family of a student who was killed by Indian police a few days ago. The, bodies of two Indian soldiers were recovered from Baramulla and Budgam districts in mysterious circumstances at their places of duty. Meanwhile, an Indian trooper killed his colleague at Balnoi area of Rajori district today.
