Five-time champion Roger Federer produced a stunning display to beat fifth seed Robin Soderling and reach the semi-finals of the US Open.

The Swiss, 29, came through 6-4 6-4 7-5 in the night session on Arthur Ashe Stadium as both men defied windy conditions in a high-quality match. "It was tough conditions to play in," Federer admitted afterwards. He goes on to face Novak Djokovic after the Serbian earlier beat Gael Monfils 7-6 (7-2) 6-1 6-2.

Caroline Wozniacki remains on track for a first Grand Slam title after overcoming both Dominika Cibulkova and the windy conditions at the US Open.
The Dane, last year's runner-up, dominated the quarter-final to win 6-2 7-5 on an extremely blustery night at Flushing Meadows. "It felt like playing in a hurricane," Wozniacki said afterwards.
She goes on to face Vera Zvonareva after the Russian earlier beat Estonia's Kaia Kanepi 6-3 7-5.

Novak Djokovic made short work of Gael Monfils to reach the semi-finals of the US Open for the fourth year running.
Third seed Djokovic came through 7-6 (7-2) 6-1 6-2 on another windy day in New York.
Frenchman Monfils, the 17th seed, let a break lead slip in the first set and thereafter Djokovic took total control.
The Serb will next play second seed Roger Federer, who beat fifth seed Robin Soderling 6-4 6-4 7-5 in Wednesday's night match.

Pakistan’s Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi set another precedent in the tennis history of Pakistan when he reached the final of the mixed doubles at the US open tennis tournament for the first time in New York.

Qureshi, who has teamed up with Kveta Peschke of the Czech Republic, reached the final after defeating Anna-Lena of Germany and Mark Knowles of the Bahamas by 7-6 and 6-7. Qureshi is first Pakistani to qualify for the final of any grand slam competition.
