River Indus is in very high flood at Kotri with water discharge of over seven lac ninety one thousand cusecs.
The water level at Kotri is continuously falling and there has been a fall of around twenty-four thousand cusecs in the upstream discharge of the river.
The flood water downstream of Kotri is moving towards sea without any resistance as the tide in the sea has subsided. The river is in high flood at Sukkur with water discharge of five lac forty one thousand cusecs while it is in medium flood at Guddu with a water discharge of four lac fifty seven thousand cusecs. With the drop in the discharge in the Guddu barrage, the pressure on the breach of Tori bund has reduced and the authorities have started to plug the breach which occurred early last month.
