Pakistan has asked the United States to provide it consular access to Dr Afia Siddiqui, who is a Pakistani national and is believed to be in the custody of U.S. authorities.
Pakistan’s ambassador to the United States, Husain Haqqani made the request for consular access to the U.S. authorities. Dr. Afia Siddiqui along with her children had disappeared in March 2003. American media reports quoting FBI said Dr Afia is under custody at Bagram airbase. A U.S. attorney said Mrs Siddiqui, is scheduled to appear at New York's southern district court.
