President Pervez Musharraf today cancelled his scheduled visit to china, where he was to attend the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.
The foreign office said the visit has been cancelled due to developments at home. Foreign office spokesman Mohammad Sadiq said the Chinese government has been informed that due to developments at home, the President will not be able to attend the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Beijing. During the visit from Aug 6 to 9, the President was also scheduled to hold bilateral talks with the Chinese leaders and other heads of states and governments attending the grand event. An official of the president house also confirmed the cancellation of the visit, without citing any reason.
